Hi there everybody.  I'm Sheri, 39 and been a Christian since I was 13.  I came into contact with Petra when I was 18.  The first song I heard was First Love and I fell right in love with them.  From that point on, Christian Rock was my sanity.  I met Petra several times and received autographs on various items.  I have quite the collection, which I am glad of now that they are sadly retired.  Whiteheart is another favourite of mine and have met them too.  I've had backstage passes for both groups several times in the 1990's.  Loved every time I had with them.  When Petra retired, I saw their Farewell tour in Kingston, Ontario here in Canada and I gave them all gift bags full of stuff to remember the impact they made on this, my life.
I live in Canada, eh and am very proud to be here.  The US and England are my favourite "foreign" countries.  I have never been out of Ontario since I was 13 and I don't remember them, so that doesn't count.  I do not work for medical reasons.  I volunteer at the CMHA Canadian Mental Health Association.  I love cats, preferably black ones for some reason.  I crochet, sew, volunteer, write in many genres including poetry, sermons for a minister in Africa, the Christians In Recovery Website and the CMHA, essays, a book, working on a second and third one.  I paint and sketch as well.  I love the warmer weather and absolutely hate Canadian winters.  I'll take humidity anyday over that!  I love to read and miss my concert days.  No band nowadays catches my interest sadly.  Christian Rock has gone metal which does not appeal to me.  This site is as hard as I go.  Personally, I feel bands went downhill after Petra, Whiteheart and Whitecross.  I also enjoyed Higher Power while they were around.  Glad to be here and hope to make many Christian friends...of any age, but sure would like some around my age.

Hi this is Taliakum. I am 26.
It's  such a blessing to hear your job for the LORD. Keep it up!
I am from Nagaland, a state  in India.  We share borders with Burma.
I get fired up by the lyrics of Petra songs.

I as a Naga am always thankful to the Americans because it was a missionary by the name E W Clark who came all the way from the States to our native land to open our eyes to the LORD in the 1870s. Nagaland is a cool, hilly place with lot of nature to hang around with. The population is almost same percent Christians.

I am a Praise&Worship leader; into youth ministry; child ministry and some others.

I really wanted to be there in a concert two years back when Petra came to a neighbouring state. But I couldn't. Now they've retired.

Anyway, Petra will go down in my spiritual history as a Preacher and a Teacher. Let's join hands for more like them whom GOD will raise up.
Amen!

Hi Talakum, I am so glad that God sent the missionary to your country.  Without them, none of us would have heard.  If the origial disciples had stayed in Nazareth and main areas of the New Testament times, imagine how many people wouold have never heard.  God bless those who are not only called, but actually listen and follow through on that call.  To be honest, I don't know if I could go to someplace out of Canada, or even North America.  I'm glad you came to know Jesus.  Best life ever.  It is also good to hear you are a youth worship minister.  God will truly bless you for your obedience.  It is wonderful to work with youth.  I did for a few years and now I see them as adults, married, with children and lealding other young people.  I just have to stop and think "WOW!"  God bless them as they reach others now.
Please pray for me.  Somebody took my digital camera.  It has about 300 pictures on it and some of them are the last ones of my cat that died in March.  I don't care so much about the camera as the pictures.  I'm praying whoever took it will return it and that God heaps coals of fire on their conscience until they do.  My name is inscribed on the bottom of it.  I hope to hear from you again.

Earth is not a big place as it's our Father's footstool.

Just want to share testimony. One of my spiritual mentors shared this some two years or so ago. They bought a new generator for their Bible college. But it was stolen by someone whom they had no idea of. What they did was ..went to the place where they kept the generator and prayed, "Lord, if this is your will that the generator has to be somebody else's, let it be. If it's meant for us, let it be. Amen!" You know what? Next day the found the generator from where it was stolen..even the tags attached!

Try that prayer sincerely! God is FOR us.
