New to the forums. I have been enjoying listening to Reign on my pc. Before anything else I want to say that I did look for forum rules and did not see anything so if I am out of line for asking this then understand that I meant no offence and am not trying to start any controversy.
I love metal. When I gave my life to Christ 15 years ago I gave up the worlds metal and got into the Christian scene. I also play guitar, etc etc.
I have tons of great Christian metal on tape - all from the 90's. Almost all of my tapes are worn out, many lost and some have been broken.
What I am looking for is to get the music I love (and paid for) on MP3. I am hoping someone here who may have some of the same collection as me and who has made their CD's into MP3's would be willing to share them with me.
I can take pictures of my tapes to prove that I have indeed paid for the music and am not trying to be dishonest.
Anyhow, if that is alright and someone would be willing to help out let me know.
Thanks,
IXOYE777.

just a suggestion, but if you have pictures of the cassettes then what you might try is actually sending a message either to the band's myspace or to their website or whatever and ask them directly if there's any way that they can help you, i can't guarantee that they'll be able to help you to the full extent, but you may be able to get some mp3's straight from the bands, not only that, but some bands do offer some of their songs free to download on their myspace or purevolume page from time to time.
i know the at least in this one case, steve taylor has not only made available to download some of his songs, but also posted links to other pages that have his music available to download.
anyways, i know it's not much, but i hope this at least helps a little
good luck in your quest
edit: welcome to the forum!

I don't know the legality of it all, but it would seem to me if you bought the music you can have a copy of it however you want. Although the person giving you the MP3 may be able to get in trouble for sharing... Copyright law is crazy
Personally I've just gone ahead and purchased some of the old stuff I had on cassette through iTunes, but that starts to cost some $$$ after a while.
Contacting the artist is a great idea though. Sacred Warrior used to have all their songs available for download free, but their site is messed up now and that doesn't work.

There is a Christian File Sharing site called ZPOC. Just go to ZPOC and you can download their software. It is free and you can download pretty much anything you want as long as it is Christian. I have downloaded tons of music from there especially the copies out of print. The first ideas were great but if the band no longer exists it would be tough trying to contact them.

I don't think that Zpoc is in business no more. I'm pretty sure that they got shut down. If I'm wrong, let me know.
